Sat (&Sun) Morning Road Rides - Return of the Easy C Rider

Easy C Rider - Ride Pictures 2008

Nov 1 was expected to be too cool to ride, but turned into Indian Summer... Alex and Bob showed up on 2 hours notice and we did 30 miles to the South at a brisk pace.

(10/25) Rain and T-storms threatened, so Dick moved up the starting time an hour, and a couple of riders missed the change.

The folks that showed did a brisk 25 mile Holden ramble without getting wet, and since everyone had been riding regularly, we tried a hill on the ECR forbidden list without mishap.

With this ride ECR set a new season record of 23 rides led.

The chilly air did not prevent this group from getting out for about 25 miles on 10/18 more

On 10/11 Walter led a small group of regulars on his metric century (pictures coming)

A small group of regulars brave low temperatures for a highly modified version of the 7HW (Lynne Tolman) Bolton Explorer ride on 10/5 more

Dick and Walter do the Soughegan River Tour metric on 9/21 more

Autumn arrives a couple days early (9/20) with definitely autumnal weather for this ride more

(9/13) Another weekend double-header (Friday & Saturday). A 1pm start to avoid the morning rain worked out fine as this group of regular ECR riders headed south for a 25 mile variation of a ride to the Oxford vicinity. Sunday ended up being a (literal) washout as Dick had predicted.

A weekday ride (9/12) of 48 miles doesn't get many takers. 7HW will do it again this weekend more

Labor day (9/1) brought another double header (long) weekend for ECR more

(8/31) ECR ended August with a small group of regular riders, and a new ride route (the second) from long-time ECR Walter. Nearly autumnal weather was good. Three sections of grooved roadway in Holden were not good. Due to the hills on the way to Princeton, there was some discussion in the group as to whether today's ride really was a valid ECR ride. more
