Sat (&Sun) Morning Road Rides - Return of the Easy C Rider

Easy C Rider - Ride Pictures 2007

(9/1) After last week's Blazing heat, the opening ride for September was definitely Autumnal. The regular riders showed up, pictured at left before the ride, and making the final turn in at the end. Ride ending temperature was only 71F. This was a split 18/25 mile ride, and 6 of 8 riders biked to the start.

August 18th, a new variation of one of Dick's rides that long ago was developed based on the 7HW Dresser Hill ride (but which of course does not include Dresser Hill). We left the Auburn Library with temperatures in the mid 50s, and winds gusting to 30 mph, but it was an excellent ride.
Mid- ride we took a break after a moderate hill (this is one of the hilliest ECR rides) ... somewhere in Charlton. The ride was just over 30 miles. I thought I got everyone, but Henry is behind Ed.

On Aug 11, Dick (behind the camera) and these gentlemen did the ECR version of the Brookfield Hardwick ramble through Rutland-Oakham-Brookfields-New Braintree-Furnace - Wheelwright - Hardwick - S Barre, but not including the climb into Hardwick. Since they were all regulars and in good shape, we maintained a brisk and decidedly not ECR pace on a ride that started in the low 50s.

Thirteenth ECR ride of the season was charmed. Cool, sunny and light winds in August! Plus a new route to south county (modified with enroute suggestions from Auburn native Bob C) turned out to be a quite pleasant success.
